Elle & daniel

Package deal

One of the first things Elle told me is that she didn’t want her wedding invitations to feel like an invitation, but instead like a PR package. We dove into their individual stories & came out with Hawaiian & Chinese inspiration (Elle’s cultural background), classic & collectible books (Daniel), texture texture texture, lily pads (venue) & trinkets for each part of the weekend. Each curio cabinet door opens to reveal 3 trinkets that represent the welcome party & reception. We traveled to New York to visit a doll house store to find the perfect mini tropical cocktails, we sourced hand carved glass fish, tiny flatware, had custom Greek & Roman busts made, as well as custom tiny records with a branded sticker on the center. It was all meticulously assembled over weeks & touched many hands, including the book binder, Nicolette from Ross Press & Bindery. The save the date was the catalyst for all this whimsy & intentionality. We created a custom Hawaiian inspired block print pattern that became the inside & outside print on the petal fold envelope. The card itself had funky spot calligraphy by Pretty Written Things that accompanied the hand painted oyster, floral & fruity motif on the front. The magic really came to life on the wedding weekend with all the personal touches we made. There were riso printed menus, custom record sleeves with sourced vintage Hawaiian records, a branded “record shop,” signage galore, fortune teller fish, moon table numbers & so much more. This wedding was a party & we celebrated every second we were designing for Elle & Daniel!
