Lyndie & James

retro mashup

This wedding was simply put as: velvet Elvis meets Italian restaurant meets vintage photo booth meets 1940s meets slightly western meets leopard. Simple, right? It might seem like a task to combine all of this together, but it seemed to flow easily for us & we had a blast doing it! The couple is so unique, as is their home, as is their wedding. We started off the suite with sparkly, electric blood red paper as the enclosure that held a tiny cowgirl. She opens up to reveal an outfit change & the wedding details. We chose an oversized heart as the pocket to keep her in to tie into the hearts to come in the invitation suite & at the wedding. The invitation suite included a honeycomb heart that doubled as the details & reply card. When guests were done, they could open the honeycomb heart, tape it together & hang it by the leopard velvet ribbon. The invitation card itself was a moveable photo booth that was eventually precisely recreated into a physical booth at the reception. The couple’s dog can be seen pulling the curtain back on the invitation to reveal the wedding wording. The Italian restaurant inspiration came into play with the custom, hand sewn vegan leather envelopes. Each one was hand sewn with fluorescent pink thread & secured with a brass knob. The vegan leather matched almost perfectly to the clients’ favorite Italian restaurant. The day-of details were also very special & included an oversized retro heart for the welcome sign, custom painted tropical leaves for the escort cards & illustrated napkins with rope lettering, a mermaid & the couple posed on a vintage wedding cake topper. As you can tell, we had such fun with this suite & the couple!
